NOTE: In case your phone doesn’t work as intended, it freezes, crashes, it performs poorly etc. you might be able to fix this behavior by factory resetting it.

WARNING! Factory resetting a phone will remove all personal data stored on the internal memory, including downloaded content, contacts, media files, pictures, apps etc. You can visit the following thread to learn how to back up & restore data on the Alcatel OneTouch Pop Mega before proceeding.

    Master Reset via Settings:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings
    3. Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset
    4. Under “Personal data”, tap “Factory data reset
    5. Tap “Reset phone” > “Erase everything” to confirm

Master Reset via Recovery (Hardware Buttons):

NOTE: In case your phone prevents you from resetting it via Settings as detailed above, you should still be able to apply a master reset via recovery. To do so:

    1. Turn off your phone
    2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume Up” simultaneously
    3. At the “Alcatel” logo, release “Power” but keep holding “Volume Up
    4. When you see the “Android system recovery” screen, release “Volume Up
    5. From the menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “wipe data / factory reset
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. Press “Volume down” and highlight “Yes – delete all user data
    8. Press “Power” and the phone should reset
    9. With “Reboot system now” highlighted, press “Power
    10. Your device should now reboot with factory settings restored

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After factory resetting the phone you should perform a manual check for system updates. To do this:

    1. Tap “Apps
    2. Access “Settings
    3. Swipe to and tap “About phone
    4. Tap “Check now” and follow the on-screen prompts if an update is available for download
