    3. Tap “Brightness level” and if necessary, disable “Adaptive brightness”

    5. Go back to the “Display” menu and tap “Sleep”
    6. Select a lower value for the screen timeout, such as “15 seconds”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:

NOTE: You can improve your phone’s battery performance in the long run if you disable the connectivity options whenever they are not in use. This includes Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth.

    1. Drag the “status” bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth”, and “Location” tiles to disable these features
    3. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
    4. Tap “Location” > “Mode” and select “Battery saving” to change how GPS works
    5. Tap “Back” to return to “Settings”
    6. Tap “Wireless & networks”

    8. Disable the “Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot” feature

    Switch from 4G to 2G:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Swipe to “Wireless & networks” and tap “More”
    3. Tap “mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Change the Sync Settings:

NOTE: If you set your phone / accounts to sync less data or less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Tap “Settings”
    3. Swipe to “Personal”
    4. Tap “Accounts” and select an account type
    5. To minimize sync, clear some of the check boxes associated with the available sync settings

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third party applications can affect your phone’s battery life even if you don’t use them – assuming that these applications perform regular processes in the background. As such you might be able to improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

    1. Access “Settings”
    2. Swipe to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and swipe to “Downloads”
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” to turn the app off
    6. Alternatively, tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to completely remove the app
