    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Swipe to “Device”
    4. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    5. Tap “Battery saver” and enable the mode

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Access the “Settings” menu
    2. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Display”
    3. Tap “Brightness level”
    4. If necessary, disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Drag the brightness slider to the left
    6. Access “Display” and tap “Sleep”
    7. Select a lower screen timeout value, like “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: When you set your accounts to sync less data, you can prolong your phone’s battery life on the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Under “Personal”, tap “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type
    4. Scroll through the list and disable the desired sync options by clearing the check boxes

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Certain third party apps can drain your battery even when you don’t use them – assuming that these apps run regular processes in the background. Thus you can improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Tap “Apps” and go to “Downloads”
    4. Select the desired app
    5. Tap “Force stop” / “Disable”
    6. Alternatively, tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to remove the application from the phone

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, you can gain some battery life at the end of your day. Here’s how you can quickly disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location”, and “Bluetooth” tiles to disable these features
    3. Access the “Settings” menu
    4. Go to “Location” > “Mode”
    5. Select “Battery saving” and return to the “Settings” menu
    6. Tap “Wireless & networks” > “Mode” > “Tethering & mobile hotspot”
    7. Disable “Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot”

    Use 4G instead of 2G:

    1. Access “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & networks”, tap “More”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”
