    Enable and Manage Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. If necessary, tap “Menu” and switch to “List view”
    4. Swipe to “Device”
    5. Tap “Battery” > “Battery saver”
    6. Tap the “Battery saver” switch to turn it “ON”
    7. Choose a battery percentage at which Battery saver enables automatically

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “List view”
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    4. Tap “Brightness” and move the brightness slider to the left
    5. From the “Display” menu tap “Screen timeout”
    6. Select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:

    NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by disabling your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use.

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. If necessary tap “menu” > “List view”
    3. Tap “Tethering & networks” under “Wireless Networks”
    4. Tap “Mobile Hotspot” and turn the feature’s switch “OFF”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” switches to disable these features
    6. Tap “General” and under “Personal”, select “Location” (GPS)
    7. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving (Networks only)”

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer and go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “List view”
    3. Tap “Mobile data” > “Menu”
    4. Select to “Restrict background data”
    5. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Change App Sync Settings:

    NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by setting your apps / accounts to sync less data / less often.

    1. Access the “Settings” menu
    2. Switch to “List view” if necessary
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts & sync”
    4. Clear the check box next to “Auto-sync data”
    5. Under “Accounts”, select an app to change its sync settings

    Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

    NOTE: Certain third party applications can negatively affect battery performance even when you don’t use them – assuming of course, that the applications run regular processes in the background. As such you could improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Tap “Menu” > “List view”
    4. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    5. Access the “Downloaded’ tab
    6. Tap and hold the desired application
    7. Tap “Force stop” to disable the app, or “Uninstall” to completely remove it

    Switch from 4G to 2G:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. If necessary, switch to “List view” from the “Menu”
    3. Scroll to “Wireless Networks” and tap “Tethering & Networks”
    4. Tap “Mobile networks”
    5. Enable “Use only 2G networks”

    Keep Your Phone Updated:

    NOTE: Certain software updates contain improvements to battery life, thus you should keep your phone up to date at all times. To check for new updates:

    1. Access “Settings” and switch to “List view” if necessary
    2. Under “Device”, tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “Update center” > “System updates”
    4. Tap “Check for update”
    5. Assuming that a newer update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it on the phone
