NOTE: In case your phone doesn’t work as intended, crashes, freezes etc. then you could try fixing these issues by factory resetting the device.

WARNING! When you factory reset your phone all of your personal data stored on the internal memory will be deleted, including contacts, ringtones, apps, downloaded content, media files etc. Furthermore all of the phone’s settings will be restored to factory values.

NOTE: Visit this link to learn how to back up data on the LG Spirit, and this link for a guide on restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. If necessary, tap “Menu” and switch to “List view”
    4. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
    5. Optionally, enable / disable “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore”
    6. Tap “Backup account” and if necessary, follow the on-screen steps to create or add a Google account
    7. Tap “Factory data reset”
    8. Optionally, enable “Erase SD Card” (WARNING! By selecting this option you will also remove all the data stored on the SD card – create backups if necessary)
    9. Tap “Reset phone” > “Erase everything”
    10. Tap “OK”

Factory Reset via Recovery (Hardware Keys):

NOTE: If the phone prevents you from resetting it via “Settings”, alternatively you can try resetting it from the recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing a combination of hardware key presses.

    1. Turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” at the same time
    3. When the “LG” logo pops-up, quickly release and re-hold “Power” (make sure “Volume down” is held pressed)
    4. When “Factory data reset” appears, release all hardware buttons
    5. Highlight “Yes” using “Volume down”
    6. Press “Power” to confirm
    7. At the “Erase all user data and restore default settings” prompt, highlight “Yes” using “Volume down”
    8. Tap “Power” again to confirm and reset the phone

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: Once you factory reset your phone you should check if newer software updates are available. To do so:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. If necessary, tap “Menu” and select “List view”
    4. Under “System”, scroll to and tap “About phone”
    5. Tap “Software info” / “System updates”
    6. If a new OS version is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it
