WARNING! Factory resetting your phone will result in the deletion of all personal data stored on the internal memory, including apps, ringtones, downloads, contacts, images and so on. Furthermore all settings will be restored to factory values. However, data stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected.

NOTE: Before factory resetting the device, you can visit this thread to learn how you can back up data on the LG V10. You can also visit this thread for a guide on how to restore data.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. If necessary, tap “menu” and switch to “List view”
    4. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal”
    5. Select or clear the check boxes associated with “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore”
    6. Tap “Backup account” and follow the on-screen steps to create or sign in with a Google account
    7. Tap “Factory data reset”
    8. Optionally, choose to “Erase SD card” data too
    9. Tap “Reset phone” > “Next”
    10. Tap “Delete all” to confirm
    11. Tap “OK”

    Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If you are unable to reset the phone using the method above, you can try resetting it from the Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing a combination of button presses.

    1. Turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. At the “LG” logo, quickly release and re-hold “Power” (keep “Volume down” pressed)
    4. “Factory data reset” should appear. Press “Volume down” to highlight “Yes”
    5. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    6. At the “Erase all user data and restore default settings” pop-up, highlight “Yes” using “Volume down”
    7. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After a fresh factory reset you should check for new software updates. To do so:

    1. Make sure the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
    2. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    3. Go to “Settings”
    4. Tap “Menu” and if necessary, switch to “List view”
    5. Scroll to “System” and tap “About phone”
    6. Tap “Update Center” > “System updates”
    7. Tap “Check for Update”
    8. If an update is available, tap “next” and follow the on-screen prompts to install it on the phone
