Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth.

    1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” switches to “OFF”

    4. Tap “Mobile network sharing” and turn off ”Mobile Hotspot”
    5. Go back to “Settings”
    6. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Location” (GPS)

Change Sync Settings and Turn off Background Data:

    1. Access “Settings” and tap “Accounts & sync”
    2. Select an app to disable background data
    3. For sync options, select an account (NOTE: options will differ from one account type to another)

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect your phone’s battery life even if you don’t use them – assuming that the apps perform regular processes in the background. Thus you can improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party applications.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Tap “Apps” under “Phone”
    4. Select an app from the “Downloaded” tab
    5. Tap “Disable” to turn off the app
    6. To remove it completely, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, so you should keep your phone updated at all times. To check for new updates:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “About”
    3. Tap “Software information”
    4. Tap “Check now” and if necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update
