    Back Up & Restore App Data:

    1. On the home screen, tap “Apps”
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal”
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up Wi-Fi passwords, account data, and settings to your Google account
    5. Enable “Automatic restore”

    NOTE: App data will be automatically restored upon signing in with the Google account used to back up data.

    Back Up & Restore Contacts using Your Google Account:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select the account you want to use for syncing your contacts
    4. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method will be restored automatically upon signing in with the Google account used initially for the backup.

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

    1. Connect the Nexus 6P to your computer via USB
    2. Swipe the “Notification” bar down and make sure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
    3. Open an Explorer window on the computer
    4. Locate the media files on your phone, and copy them
    5. Navigate to the desired backup location on your computer and paste the files
    6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
    7. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector

    Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the computer and your Nexus 6P
    2. Make sure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
    3. Open an Explorer window on the computer
    4. Locate the media files backed up on your computer’s HDD
    5. Copy the files, and transfer them back on your phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
    6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray, and safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector
