Transfer Ringtones (Audio Files) From a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the OnePlus X to your computer via USB
    2. Swipe the “status” bar down and make sure the connection is set to “Media device (MTP)”
    3. Open an Explorer window on the computer, and locate the desired audio files on the HDD
    4. Copy the files, then navigate to the phone storage
    5. Transfer the files on the phone, preferably in the “Media” directory
    6. Once the transfer is done, click “Safely Remove Mass Storage” in the system tray and eject the device
    7. Safely disconnect the handset from the USB

    Set a Custom Ringtone:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “Sound” under “Device”
    4. Scroll to “Call Ringtone & Vibrate” and tap “Phone ringtone”
    5. Select the desired ringtone
    6. Tap “OK”
    7. Optionally you can enable or disable “Also vibrate for calls”

    Change a Contact’s Ringtone:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts stored on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.

    1. Launch “Contacts” and select the desired contact
    2. Tap “Edit” (icon shaped like a pencil)
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Set ringtone”
    4. Select a ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm

    Change the Phone’s Notification Sound:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound & notification”
    4. Tap “Default Notification Sound” under “Sound”
    5. Select the desired notification sound and tap “OK” to confirm
