    NOTE: You can visit this thread to learn how you can back up data on the Samsung Galaxy A5.

    Restore App Data:

    1. Sign in with the Google or Samsung account used for the initial backup
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Tap “Accounts” under “User and Backup”
    4. Select “Samsung” or “Google” and tap your “email address” or “user name”
    5. Tap “Sync all”
    6. Tap “Back” to return to “User and Backup”
    7. Tap “Backup and reset”
    8. Check / uncheck “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore” under “Backup and restore”

    Restore Contacts From an SD Card:

    1. Tap “Apps” and access “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Applications”
    3. Tap “Contacts”
    4. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” and switch to “All contacts”
    5. Tap “Import / Export” > “Import from SD card”

    Restore Contacts from a Samsung or Google Account:

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Tap “Accounts” under “User and Backup”
    3. Tap “Google” or “Samsung”, depending on the type of account used for the initial backup
    4. Tap your “email address” and make sure “Sync contacts” is enabled
    5. Tap “Sync now”

    Restore Media Files

    From an SD Card:

    1. Open the apps drawer and launch “My Files”
    2. Tap “All files” > “SD card”
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Select”
    4. Mark the check box associated with the files you want to restore
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Device storage”
    6. Navigate to the desired location and tap “Move here” (Or, tap “Create folder” or the folder name to paste the media files in a different location)

    From a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Galaxy A5 to your computer
    2. Drag the “Status” bar down and enable “Media device (MTP)”
    3. Launch an Explorer window on the PC
    4. Locate and copy the media files backed up on your computer
    5. Paste the file back on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
    6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via the system tray, and safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector

    Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

    1. Connect the Galaxy A5 to your Mac via USB
    2. Make sure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
    3. Open Kies on the Mac and access the “Back up / restore” tab
    4. Click “Restore”
    5. Mark the check box associated with “Music”, “Photos”, and other types of media files you wish to restore
    6. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen steps to complete
    7. Once the restore is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging its virtual drive into the “trash can” icon
    8. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector
