    Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Access the “General” tab and tap “Battery & power saving”
    4. Tap “Battery saver” to turn the feature On
    5. You can further customize the way Battery Saving Mode works by enabling / disabling the available options, and by setting a battery percentage to enable the mode automatically

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Tap “Display” > “Brightness”
    3. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side
    4. Return to the “Display” menu and tap “Screen timeout”
    5. Select a lower value, such as “15 seconds”

Turn Off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by disabling your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use. To do this:

    1. Access the “Settings” menu
    2. Go to the “Networks” tab and scroll to “Connectivity”
    3. Tap “Tethering” > “Mobile hotspot” and disable Hotspot
    4. Return to the “Connectivity” menu and tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” switches to disable the features
    5. Return “Settings”
    6. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Location” (GPS)
    7. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving (Networks only)”

    Switch from 4G to 2G:

    1. Open “Settings” and access the “Networks” tab
    2. Tap “More” under “Connectivity”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
    4. Select “GSM only”

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Tap “Mobile data” in the “Networks” tab
    3. Tap “Menu”
    4. Turn on “Restrict background data” and tap “OK”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Some of your third party apps can have a negative effect on your phone’s battery performance even when you don’t use them. This is because certain apps perform regular background processes. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can prolong battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Tap “Apps” under “Phone Management”
    4. Access the “Downloaded” tab
    5. Tap & hold the desired app
    6. Select “Force stop” to disable it, or tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to remove the app from the phone

    Change the Sync Settings:

NOTE: If you decrease the amount of data being synced by your phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Tap “Accounts & sync” under “Personal”
    3. Turn off “Auto-sync data”
    4. Select an app to change the available sync settings

Keep the OS Up to Date:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, so you should keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Phone Management”
    2. Tap “About phone” > “Update Center”
    3. Tap “System Updates” > “Check for updates”
    4. Assuming an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it
