    Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
    3. Tap “Menu”
    4. Turn on “Battery Saver”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your accounts to sync less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account type
    5. Clear / check the boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can have a negative effect on your phone’s battery performance even when you don’t use them – assuming that the apps run regular background processes. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Access “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps” under “Device”
    3. Go to “Downloaded”
    4. Tap the desired application
    5. Tap “Disable” / “Force Stop” to turn the app off
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    2. Tap “Display”
    3. Disable “Adaptive brightness” if necessary
    4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the slider to the left
    5. Return to the “Display” menu
    6. Tap “Sleep” and choose a lower value, like “15 seconds”

Turn Off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS When Not In Use:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “Notification” bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the tiles associated with “Bluetooth”, “Wi-Fi” and “Location” to turn off these features
    3. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
    4. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”, and turn off “Tethering & Mobile Hotspots”
    5. For additional GPS options, go back to “Settings” and tap “Location”
    6. Tap “Mode” > “Battery saving”

Switch from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type” and select “2G”
