    Change Display Settings:

    1. Tap the “Settings” tile on the Start screen
    2. Tap “System” > “Display”
    3. From the Display menu, you can enable / disable “Automatically adjust display brightness” and set the brightness level manually
    4. You can also turn “Rotation lock” on or off
    5. Under “Rotation lock”, you can drag the slider to increase or decrease the size of fonts / items
    6. When you’re done customizing the display options, tap “Apply”
    7. To adjust the “Glance Screen” (lock screen), go to “Settings” > “Extras” > “Glance Screen”

    Change Date & Time Settings:

    1. On the Start screen, tap “Settings”
    2. Tap “Time & Language”
    3. Tap “Date & Time” (NOTE: in order to manually set the time and date, both “24-hour clock” and “set date and time automatically” should be turned “Off”)
    4. Tap the “Date” fields, select the desired date and tap the “Check” button
    5. Do the same with the “Time” field, and adjust “Minute”, “Hour”, “Meridian” etc. and tap “Check”

    Setting an Alarm:

    1. On the Start screen, swipe left to “App list”
    2. Tap “Alarms & Clock”
    3. Tap “+” at the bottom of the screen to create a new alarm
    4. Adjust the time, ringtone, and snooze time as desired
    5. When ready, tap “Save”

    NOTE: From the “Alarms & Clock” screen, you can also switch tabs to “World Clock” or “Timer” and “Stopwatch”

    Tips to Increase Battery Life

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Settings” on the Start screen
    2. Go to “System” and tap “Battery saver”
    3. Tap the “Battery saver” switch to “On” to enable the feature
    4. Tap “battery saver settings” for more options

    Decrease Timeout Duration:

    1. Access “Settings”
    2. Tap “Personalization” > “Lock screen”
    3. Tap “Screen time out after field” and select a lower value

    NOTE: Decreasing screen brightness as detailed above can also improve battery life.

    Disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS:

    NOTE: When not in use, you can turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

    1. Swipe the “Notification” bar down on the Start screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” tiles to disable the features
    3. Return to the Start screen and go to “Settings”
    4. Tap “Privacy” > “Location” and turn off GPS

    Disable App Auto-Update from Store:

    1. Tap “Store” on the Start screen
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
    3. Tap to toggle “Update apps automatically when I’m on Wi-Fi” Off
