    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll down to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and turn on “Battery saver”

    Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Launch the “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    3. If necessary, turn off “Adaptive brightness”
    4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the slider towards the left side
    5. Go back to “Display”
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value, like “15 seconds”

    Disable Connectivity When Not In Use:

    NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not in use (including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS), you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Drag the “Status” bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Location” and “Wi-Fi” tiles to turn off these features
    3. Open the “Settings” menu and tap “Location” for more GPS options
    4. Tap “More” and turn on “Power saving”
    5. To turn off Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap to disable “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By changing your account’s sync settings to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch ”Settings” and scroll to “personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select an account type
    4. Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to disable

    Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

    NOTE: Some of your third party apps can affect the phone’s battery performance even when not in use, due to the fact that certain apps perform regular background processes. As such, by removing or disabling unused third party apps, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Access the “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Access “Downloaded”
    4. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    5. To remove the application instead, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Switch to 2G Connectivity:

    NOTE: To gain more battery life in case of an emergency, you can temporarily switch to 2G connectivity. To do so:

    1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Tap to select “2G”
