    Back Up App Data:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal”
    4. You can enable “Back up my data” to back up Wi-Fi passwords, account data, and settings to your Google account
    5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow your account to automatically restore data the next time you sign in

    Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:

    1. Access the “Settings” menu
    2. Tap “Accounts” and select an account type (Google)
    3. Select your account
    4. Make sure “Contacts” is selected
    5. Tap “More” > “Sync now”

    Back Up Contacts to Storage / SD:

    1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Applications” > “Contacts”
    4. Tap “Import / Export contacts”
    5. Tap “Export” and select “SD card” or “Storage”
    6. Make sure you remember the file name for future use
    7. Tap “OK” to confirm and export (back up) the file

    Back Up Media Files

    On the SD Card:

    1. Make sure the SD card is installed on your phone
    2. Open the apps drawer
    3. Launch “My Files”
    4. Tap “Device storage” under “Local storage”
    5. Tap “More” > “Edit”
    6. Locate the media files you want to back up
    7. Tick the boxes associated with the desired media files
    8. Tap “More” > “Copy” > “SD card”
    9. Tap “Create” folder” or navigate to the desired backup folder
    10. Tap “Paste here”

    On a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Galaxy J7 to your PC via USB
    2. Drag the “Status” bar down on the home screen
    3. Ensure “Media device (MTP)” is selected
    4. On the PC, open the File Explorer
    5. Locate the media files on the phone and copy them
    6. Transfer the media files in the desired backup location on the phone
    7. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray
    8. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

    On a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: In case Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac then skip the first 3 steps below.

    1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Visit Kies Support
    3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and install Kies on the Mac
    4. Connect the Galaxy J7 to your computer via USB
    5. On the phone’s home screen, drag the “Status” bar down
    6. Make sure “Media device (MTP)” is enabled
    7. Switch to the Mac and launch Kies
    8. Inside Kies, click the “Back up / restore” tab
    9. Click the “Backup” tab
    10. Select “Music”, “Photos”, and other types of media files you want to back up
    11. Click “Backup” and wait for the process to end
    12. Once done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and into the “Trash can” to eject it
    13. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
