    Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your third party applications doesn’t work as intended; it crashes, freezes, is unresponsive or takes up too much storage space inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache / data.

WARNING! When clearing an app’s data, all personal data stored within the app will be deleted! (Such as login and credit card information, saved games and high scores, profiles etc. However, clearing the app’s cache can have similar beneficial effects without losing any personal data.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
    3. Access the “General” tab
    4. Tap “Apps” under “Phone Management”
    5. Go to “All” or “Downloaded”
    6. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache”
    7. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “Yes” to confirm

    Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably etc. you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have similar effects as a factory reset without losing any personal data.

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Go to the “General” tab
    3. Tap “Storage” under “Phone Management”
    4. Wait for the phone to finish calculating data
    5. Tap “Clear data” > “Yes”
    6. Once the cache is cleared, it should no longer appear under “Storage”. (Or at least a very small amount of cached data will appear)

NOTE: If wiping the cache partition didn’t solve the problems, alternatively you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can factory reset the LG Tribute 5 instead.

Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party app that causes issues and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to easily remove the app from within Safe Mode.

    1. Wake up the screen if necessary
    2. While viewing the home screen, press & hold “Power”
    3. In the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
    4. At the “Restart in safe mode” prompt, tap “OK”
    5. After the phone restarts, a “Safe Mode” label should be present in the lower area of the home screen
    6. Next, access the “Settings” menu
    7. Go to the “General” tab
    8. Tap “Apps” under “Phone management”
    9. Go to “Downloaded”
    10. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
    11. To exit safe mode, simply press and hold “Power” and restart your device as you normally would
