    Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your apps doesn’t work properly, it freezes, crashes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the app’s cache / data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all personal information stored within the app (such as login and credit card information, profiles, saved games, high scores etc.) will be deleted. You can avoid losing this information by clearing only the app’s cache.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Under “Applications”, tap “Application manager”
    4. Go to the “Downloaded” or “All” tab
    5. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache”
    6. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “OK”

    Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone doesn’t work as intended and runs out of storage inexplicably, you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the device’s cache partition, with similar effects as a factory reset without losing any of your personal information stored on the internal memory.

    1. If necessary, turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Power”, “Home” and “Volume Up” at the same time
    3. At the “Samsung” logo, release “Power”
    4. On the Android screen, release the other two buttons as well
    5. From the recovery menu, use “Volume down” to navigate to and highlight “wipe cache partition”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. Once the cache is wiped, “Reboot system now” will be highlighted
    8. Press “Power” and your device will reboot in normal mode

NOTE: If clearing the phone’s cache partition didn’t solve the problems, you can head down to this thread for instructions on how you can master reset the device.

Reboot in Safe Mode and Uninstall an Application:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party application that causes problems and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app from Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party applications are disabled.

    1. First, turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Power”
    3. When the “Samsung” logo appears, release “Power” and immediately press and hold “Volume down” instead
    4. Once the phone finishes the reboot, you should see a “Safe mode” label in the lower-left corner of the screen
    5. To remove the desired app, go to “Settings”
    6. Next, tap “Applications” under “Device”
    7. Tap “Application manager”
    8. Access the “Downloaded” section
    9. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” twice
    10. Once the app has been removed, press and hold “Power” to reboot your phone and exit Safe Mode
