    Back Up Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer and go to “Settings”
    2. Under “User and Backup”, tap “Backup and reset”
    3. Tap “Backup account” > “Add account” if necessary
    4. Sign in with your Google account
    5. Turn on “Backup account” and “Backup my data”

    Back Up Contacts on a Google or Samsung Account:

    1. Launch “Contacts”
    2. Tap “More” > “Settings”
    3. Tap “Move device contacts to”
    4. If necessary, select a “Samsung” or “Google” account
    5. Go back to the home screen and access “Settings”
    6. Tap “Accounts”
    7. Select the desired account, tap “More” > “Sync now”

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Galaxy J2 to your computer via USB
    2. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
    3. Make sure “Media device (MTP)” is turned on
    4. On the computer, open the File Explorer
    5. Locate the media files on your phone and copy them
    6. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
    7. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac (via Kies):

    NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, you should skip the first 3 steps below.

    1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Visit Kies Support
    3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and download & install Kies on the Mac
    4. Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy J2 and your computer
    5. On the phone’s home screen, drag the “notification” bar down
    6. Make sure “Media device (MTP)” is selected
    7. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the “Back up / restore” tab
    8. Go to the “Backup” tab
    9. Check the boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos”, and other types of media files you want to back up
    10. Click “Backup”
    11. After the process is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop into the “trash can” to eject it
    12. It’s now safe to disconnect the phone from the USB cord
