WARNING! When you master reset your phone, all the personal information stored on the device’s internal memory will be deleted, including media files, contacts, ringtones, downloaded content etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values. However, data stored on the SD and SIM cards will not be removed.

NOTE: Before you factory reset your phone, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can back up and restore data.

    Master Reset via Settings:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “Backup & reset” > “Factory data reset”
    4. Tap “Reset phone” > “Erase everything”
    5. After the reset is done, your phone will reboot

    Master Reset Using Hardware Keys:

NOTE: In case you are unable to reset the phone via Settings, alternatively you can try resetting it using a combination of hardware buttons which give access to the Android System Recovery menu. To do this:

    1. Turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume Up” at the same time
    3. At the “Alcatel” startup screen, release the “Power” button but keep holding “Volume Up”
    4. When the “Android system recovery” screen appears, release “Volume Up” too
    5. From the Recovery menu, use the volume buttons to navigate to and highlight “wipe data / factory reset”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. Press “Volume down” to highlight “Yes – delete all user data”
    8. Press “Power” to select the option
    9. After the phone resets, you will be prompted to “Reboot system now”
    10. Press “Power” and wait for the phone to restart

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After a factory reset, it’s recommended to check if new software updates are available for download. To do this:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “About phone”
    4. Go to “System Updates” and, if necessary / available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install updates
