    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Access the “General” tab
    3. Swipe to “Phone management” and tap “Battery & power saving”
    4. Tap the power saving switch to “ON”
    5. In addition, you can customize the way battery saving mode works by clearing or checking the available tick boxes, and by choosing a battery percentage at which the mode should enable automatically

Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Go to the “Display” tab
    4. Under “Other screen settings”, tap “Brightness”
    5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen
    6. Return to “Display”, and tap “Screen timeout” to select a lower timeout value, such as “15 seconds”

    Turn Off Connectivity When Unused:

NOTE: By turning off the phone’s connectivity options when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. If necessary, go to the “Networks” tab
    3. Under “Connectivity”, tap “Tethering”
    4. Tap “Mobile hotspot” and set the switch to “OFF”
    5. Go back to “Settings” and tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” switches to disable these features
    6. To change how GPS works, tap “Location” > “Mode” and select “Battery saving (Networks only)”

    Temporarily Switch to 2G:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity:

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Go to the “Networks” tab if necessary
    3. Tap “More” under “Connectivity”
    4. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
    5. Select “GSM only”

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access the “Networks” tab
    3. Tap “Mobile data” > “Menu”
    4. Tap to disable “Restrict background data”
    5. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ settings to reduce the amount of data synced with your device, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Under “Personal”, tap “Accounts & sync”
    3. Turn off “auto-sync data”
    4. To adjust more sync settings, tap “Accounts” and, if applicable, select an account

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some of the third party applications on your phone can affect battery life even when they are not in use, due to the fact that certain apps perform regular background processes. As such, by turning off or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. If necessary, access the “General” tab
    3. Under “Phone Management”, tap “Apps”
    4. Access the “Downloaded” tab
    5. Tap and hold the desired application
    6. Tap “Force stop” to disable the app, or tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to remove it from your phone

Keep The Software Up To Date:

NOTE: Software updates can improve battery life, so it’s recommended to keep your device’s OS up to date at all times. To check for new updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access the “General” tab
    3. Tap “About phone”
    4. Tap “Update center” > “System update”
    5. Tap “Check for updates”. If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it
