    Back Up Data to Google Drive:

    1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll to and tap “Backup & reset”
    3. Tap “Backup account”
    4. Select “HTC account” and, if necessary, sign in with your HTC account (NOTE: alternatively you can use a Facebook or Google account)
    5. From the “Cloud Storage” menu, select “Google Drive”
    6. Tap “OK” and sign in with your Google account to access Drive
    7. Tap “Back up now”
    8. Optionally, you can enable “Automatic backup”

    NOTE: To set your phone to create daily backups automatically over Wi-Fi, you can access “Settings” > “Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi”

    Restore Data from Google Drive:

    1. After rebooting your phone after a factory reset (or without being signed in to an account), you will be prompted to “Restore from HTC Backup”
    2. Select to restore data and sign in with the account containing the backup
    3. Go to the history menu and select the backup you want to restore
    4. Tap “Next”
    5. If necessary, sign in with your Google account and allow “Drive” to connect
    6. Once the files have been restored, tap “Next”

    Back Up and Restore Data Locally

    Back Up Contacts on the SD Card / Storage:

    1. On the home screen, tap “Phone”
    2. Access the “Phone” tab
    3. Tap “Menu”
    4. Tap “Manage contacts” > “Import / Export contacts”
    5. Select to “Export to SD card” or “Export to phone storage”
    6. Select an account and, optionally, tap “Yes” to set a password for the backup file
    7. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Restore Contacts from Storage / SD Card:

    1. Launch “People”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Manage Contacts”
    3. Go to “Import / Export contacts”
    4. Select “Import from storage” or “Import from SD”
    5. If necessary, choose an account
    6. Select the backup file you want to restore and tap “OK”
    7. In case the backup file is password-protected, enter the password and tap “OK” to proceed

    Back Up Messages:

    1. On the home screen, tap “Messages”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Backup / Restore SMS”
    3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS”
    4. If desired, set a password for the backup file
    5. Enter a name for the file and tap “OK” to create it

    Back Up Messages via Email:

    1. Open “Messages” and tap “Menu”
    2. Tap “Back up / Restore SMS”
    3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS via email”
    4. Select if you want to password-protect the file
    5. Lastly, send the email containing the SMS backup attachment to your own address

    NOTE: To restore messages from an email, simply download the attached backup file and use “Messages” to import it.

    Back Up Your Dictionaries:

    1. Open the “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll to and select “Language & Keyboard”
    3. Tap “HTC Sense input” > “Personal dictionary”
    4. Tap “Menu” and select to “Back up to storage” or “Back up to email”
    5. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Back Up and Restore Tasks:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Tasks”
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
    4. Select to “Export to SD card”

    NOTE: To restore tasks, open the application, tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”, select to “Import from SD card” and follow the on-screen prompts if necessary.
