    Back Up Data to Google Drive:

    1. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll to, and tap “Backup & reset”
    3. Tap “Backup account” and select “HTC Account”
    4. If necessary, sign in with your HTC account (NOTE: alternatively you can use a Google or Facebook account)
    5. In the “Cloud Storage” menu, select “Google Drive”
    6. Tap “OK”
    7. If necessary, sign in with your Google account to gain access to Drive
    8. Tap “Back up now”, and optionally turn on “Automatic backup”

    NOTE: You can set your phone to create automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi by heading to “Settings” > “Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi”

    Restore Data from Google Drive:

    1. Once you reboot your device after a factory reset or without being signed in to an account, you should be prompted to “Restore from HTC Backup”
    2. Choose to restore data and sign in with your backup account
    3. Access the history menu and select the desired backup
    4. Tap “Next” and if necessary, sign in with your Google account and allow “Drive” to connect
    5. After the files have been restored, tap “Next”

    Back Up and Restore Data Locally

    Back Up Contacts on Storage / SD Card:

    1. Tap “Phone” on the home screen
    2. Go to the “Phone” tab
    3. Tap “Menu” > “manage contacts”
    4. Tap “Import / Export contacts”
    5. Select to “Export to SD card” or “Export to phone storage”
    6. Choose an account
    7. Optionally, tap “Yes” to set a password for the backup file and tap “OK” to confirm

    Restore Contacts from Storage / SD Card:

    1. Open “People”
    2. Tap “Menu”
    3. Tap “Manage Contacts”
    4. Access “Import / Export contacts”
    5. Choose to “Import from SD” or “Import from storage”
    6. Select an account if necessary
    7. Choose the backup file you wish to restore and tap “OK”
    8. If the backup file is protected by a password, enter the password and tap “OK” to continue

    Back Up Dictionaries:

    1. Access the “Settings” menu
    2. Scroll to and tap “Language & Keyboard”
    3. Tap “HTC Sense input”
    4. Access “Personal dictionary” and tap “Menu”
    5. Select to “Back up to storage” or “Back up to email”
    6. Tap “OK”

    Back Up & Restore Tasks:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Tasks”
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
    4. Choose to “Export to SD card”

    NOTE: To restore tasks, launch “Tasks”, tap “Menu” > “Import / Export” > “Import from SD” and if necessary, follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.

    Back Up Messages:

    1. Tap “Messages” on the home screen
    2. Tap “Menu”
    3. Go to “Backup / Restore SMS”
    4. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS”
    5. Optionally, set a password for the backup file
    6. Enter a name for the file and tap “OK” to confirm

    Back Up Messages via Email:

    1. On the home screen, tap “Messages”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Back up / Restore SMS”
    3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS via email”
    4. Choose whether to password-protect the file
    5. Send an email containing the SMS Backup attachment to your own email address

    NOTE: To restore messages from an email, download the backup file attachment and use the “Messages” app to import it.
