WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, all your personal data stored on the device’s internal memory will be deleted. This includes media files, downloaded content, contacts, apps, etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values; however data stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be deleted.

NOTE: Before master resetting the LG X Screen, you can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up data, and this thread for instructions on how to restore data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Swipe the “Notification” bar down on the home screen
    2. In the top-right corner, tap “Settings”
    3. Access “General”
    4. Tap “Backup & reset”
    5. Clear or check “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore”
    6. Tap “Backup account” and, if necessary, sign in with or select your Google account
    7. Tap “Factory data reset” and choose whether or not to “Erase SD card” too. WARNING! If you enable this option, all data located on the SD card will be permanently deleted
    8. Tap “reset phone”
    9. Tap “Next” > “Delete all” > “OK” to confirm

    Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesn’t allow you to reset it via Settings, you can try resetting the phone from the Android System Recovery menu which can be accessed by performing a combination of button presses.

    1. Make sure the phone is turned off
    2. Then, press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. At the “LG” logo, quickly release and re-hold “Power”
    4. After you gain access to the “Factory data reset” screen, release the buttons
    5. From the menu, press “Volume down” to highlight “Yes”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. When prompted with “Erase all user data and restore default settings”, press “Volume down” to highlight “Yes”
    8. Press “Power” again to select the highlighted option and wait for your phone to reset and reboot

    Check for Software Updates:

NOTE: After you factory reset your phone it’s recommended to check if newer software updates are available for download. To do this:

    1. Drag the “Notification” bar down on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Access “General” > “About phone”
    4. Tap “Software info” and verify if a new OS update is available
    5. If necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update
