    Back Up Data to Google Drive:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings
    3. Scroll to and tap “Backup & reset
    4. Tap “Backup account” > “HTC account
    5. Sign in with your HTC account if necessary, or alternatively you can use a Google or Facebook account
    6. From the “Cloud Storage” menu, tap “Google Drive” > “OK
    7. Sign in with your Google account to access Drive
    8. Tap “Back up now” and optionally, turn on “Automatic backup

    NOTE: to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, go to “Settings” > “Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi

    Restore Data from Google Drive:

    1. Sign in with the Google backup account on the HTC device, or, after a factory reset, tap “Restore from HTC backup
    2. Select to restore data
    3. If necessary, sign in with the account containing the backups
    4. Access the history menu and select the backup to restore
    5. Tap “next” and sign in with your Google account, then allow “Drive” to connect
    6. Once the files have been restored, tap “Next

    Back Up & Restore Data Locally

    Back Up Contacts on the Storage / SD Card:

    1. On the home screen, tap “Phone
    2. Go to the “Phone” tab
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Manage contacts
    4. Tap “Import / Export contacts” and choose to “Export to SD card” or “Export to phone storage
    5. Select an account
    6. Optionally, you can set a password for the backup file by pressing “Yes
    7. Tap “OK” to confirm and create the backup

    Restore Contacts from Storage / SD Card:

    1. Launch “People” and access the “Phone” tab
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Manage contacts
    3. Tap “Import / Export contacts
    4. Select to “Import from storage” or “Import from SD
    5. Select an account if necessary
    6. Tap the backup file you want to restore and press “OK
    7. In case the backup file is password-protected, enter the password and tap “OK” to proceed

    Back Up Messages:

    1. Open “Messages
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Backup & Restore SMS
    3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS
    4. Optionally, set a password for the backup file
    5. Enter a name for the file and tap “OK

    Back Up Messages via Email:

    1. Open “Messages
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Backup & Restore SMS
    3. Tap “Back up
    4. Select “Back up SMS via email
    5. Select whether or not to protect the backup file with a password
    6. Send the email and the backup file attachment to your own email address

    NOTE: To restore messages, open the email, download the attachment, and import it via “Messages

    Back Up Dictionaries:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Under “Lanaguage & Keyboard”, tap “HTC Sense input
    3. Tap “Personal dictionary” > “Menu
    4. Select to “Back up to storage” or “Back up to email
    5. Press “OK” to confirm

    Back Up and Restore Tasks:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Tasks” and tap “Menu
    3. Select to “Import / Export
    4. Tap “Export to SD card

    NOTE: To restore tasks, open “Tasks” and tap “Menu” > “Import / Export” > “Import from SD card”, then follow the on-screen steps to select and restore the desired backup file
