    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Location”, “Wi-Fi”, and “Bluetooth” tiles to disable these features
    3. Open the “Settings” menu and tap “Location” for more GPS options

    6. Tap the switch to disable “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot”

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: If you don’t have quick access to a battery pack or wall socket and your device runs out of battery, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile Networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Select “2G”

Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    3. If necessary, turn off “Adaptive brightness”
    4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
    5. Go back to “Display” and tap “Sleep”
    6. Select a lower value, such as “15 seconds”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps on your phone can affect battery life even when they are not in use. This is due to the fact that some apps perform regular background processes. As such, you might be able to improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps”
    4. Go to “Downloaded” and select the desired application
    5. Tap “Force stop” or “Disable” to turn the app off
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “uninstall” > “OK”

Change Sync Settings For Your Apps / Accounts:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to sync less data throughout the day, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    4. Select the desired account type and clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to disable
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

Keep The OS Up To Date:

NOTE: Some software updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it’s recommended to keep your phone up to date at all times. To do this:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “System” and tap “About phone”
    4. Tap “System updates”
    5. If a new update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it. NOTE: This process may require a reboot
