Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down with two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location”, and “Bluetooth” tiles to disable these features
    3. For additional Location (GPS) options, go to “Settings”

    6. Tap to disable “Tethering & Mobile hotspot”

    Use 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity.

    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Turn on “2G” connectivity

    5. Return to “Display” and tap “Sleep”
    6. Select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to sync less data, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer on the home screen

    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account type
    5. Select an account and clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
    4. Tap “Force stop” / “Disable” to turn off the app
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Keep the Software Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements. As such, it’s recommended to keep your phone up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll down to, and tap “About phone”
