    Enable Power Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Under “System”, tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Power saving mode” and set the feature to “ON”
    5. Select a battery percentage at which Power Saving Mode enables automatically

Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth When Unused:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity options when they are not in use (including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth), you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Connections”
    3. Tap “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot” and set the option to “OFF”
    4. Return to the home-screen and swipe the “Status” bar down
    5. Tap the tiles associated with “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) to disable these features

    Temporarily Switch to 2G:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you wish to conserve battery life until the next recharge, you can do so by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Under “Connections”, tap “More connection settings”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Network mode” and turn on “GSM only”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Display” under “Device”
    3. Tap “Screen timeout”
    4. Select a lower value, such as “15 seconds”
    5. From the “Display” menu, disable “Automatic brightness” if necessary
    6. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side to decrease luminosity

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some apps perform regular background processes, and thus they can affect battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “Applications” > “Application manager”
    3. Access “Downloaded”
    4. Select the desired app
    5. Tap “Force stop” / “Disable” to turn the app off
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your accounts / apps to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select an account and clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
    4. Tap “Menu”
    5. Press “Sync now”

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Under “Connections”, tap “Data usage”
    3. Tap “More”
    4. Tap “Restrict background data”
    5. Tap “OK” to confirm

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, so it’s recommended to keep your phone up to date at all times. To verify if new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “System”
    3. Tap “About device”
    4. Tap “System updates” and check whether a new update is available
    5. If necessary, follow the on-screen steps to download and install updates (NOTE: this process will require a reboot)
