    Back Up App Data:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal”
    4. Tap “Backup and reset”
    5. Tap “Backup account”
    6. Select an account or tap “Google account” > “Add account”, and sign in with the Google account you want to use for the backup
    7. Turn on “Back up my data” and “Backup account”

    Back Up Contacts Using an HTC or Google Account:

    1. Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
    2. Open the apps drawer
    3. Go to “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
    5. Tap “Backup account”
    6. Select “Google Account” or “HTC Account”
    7. To allow your device to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, turn on “Automatic backup”
    8. To back up your contacts manually, tap “Back up now”

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the HTC 10 Lifestyle to your computer via USB
    2. When prompted, enable “Media device (MPT)” / “File Transfer (MTP)”, or enable the option from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Use the Explorer to locate the media files on your phone
    5. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
    6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac:

    1. Connect the HTC 10 Lifestyle to your Mac via USB
    2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch the File Finder on the Mac
    4. Locate and copy the media files on your phone
    5. Paste the files in the desired backup location on the Mac storage
    6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and into the “Trash can”
    7. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
