Thanks for your reply. Although it is free to see if its unlocked or blaclisted unfortunatly is cost to find out what carrier its locked to. I cant believe apple is so ridiculous about carriers not being able to put a "brand" on any of their products.
I contacted at&t today and they said they could activate the phone on their network, now does this confirm it is in at&t phone or is there still a chance it could be from another carrier. The phone is locked so i wonder how they could activate it if it wasnt one of thiers???
All thoughts and info is greatly appreciated. Thanks
If they say they can activate it, I would just try activating it. It might be an AT&T phone if they say they can activate it.

    Hi mightykc1014,

I think the main method used by most iPhone owners in order to determine what carrier the phone is locked to is through the Check IMEI - IMEI.info website.

First, you need to find out your iPhone's IMEI. One way to find out the IMEI is by dialing *#06#

Then, you need to visit the aforementioned website and enter your IMEI. The website connects to an IMEI database that can determine your phone's status, whether it's locked or not, and with what carrier.

As far as I know, determining whether or not the iPhone is locked is free, as long as you create an account on IMEI.info. However, it might cost you a few dollars in order to find out the carrier on which your phone is locked. I'm not sure, and you might want to confirm this yourself. Things might have changed since last time I've checked IMEI.info.

    Hope this helped
