    Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Tap “Battery” under “System”
    4. Tap “Power saving mode” to enable the option
    5. To adjust the battery percentage at which the battery saver mode enables automatically, tap “Start power saving”

    Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:

    NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Connections” and select the connectivity option you want to turn off
    3. Tap “Tethering & Mobile hotspot” and set the switch to “OFF”

    Switch to 2G Networks:

    NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you wish to conserve energy until the next recharge, you can do so by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Under “Connections”, tap “More connection settings”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
    4. Enable “GSM only”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Tap “Display” under “Device”
    4. Disable “automatic brightness” if necessary
    5. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease screen luminosity
    6. Go back to “Display” and tap “Screen timeout”
    7. Select a lower value, such as “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By changing the sync settings on your phone to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Under “Personal”, tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account type and account
    5. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes and can affect battery life even when they are not actively used. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Tap “Applications” under “Device”
    4. Tap “Application manager”
    5. Go to the “Downloaded” tab and select the desired app
    6. Tap “Disable” / “Force stop” to turn off the app
    7. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Connections”
    3. Tap “Data usage”
    4. Tap “More” > “restrict background data”
    5. Tap “OK”

    Check for OS Updates:

    NOTE: New software versions can include improvements to battery life. Thus, it’s recommended to keep your OS up to date. To check for new updates:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “System”
    3. Tap “About device”
    4. Check if a new software version is available and if applicable, follow the on-screen steps if necessary
