    Back Up App Data:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
    4. To back up app data to your Google account, enable “Back up my data”
    5. To allow app data to be automatically restored upon signing in with your Google account, enable “Automatic Restore”

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to, and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and the account you want to use for syncing
    4. If necessary, check “Contacts”
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

    NOTE: Contacts Backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your backup account.

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Sony Xperia X to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Use the Explorer to locate the media files on your phone and copy them
    5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC storage
    6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB

    Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Connect the Sony Xperia X to your computer using the USB cord
    2. Enable “Turn device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media backup files on the PC storage
    4. Copy the backup files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directory they originate from
    5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
