    Back Up App Data:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset
    4. To back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your Google account, turn on “Back up my data
    5. To allow app data to be restored automatically upon reinstallation, turn on “Automatic restore

    Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Tap “Accounts
    3. Select Google and a Google account
    4. Make sure “Contacts” is selected, then tap “More” > “Sync now

    Back Up Contacts to SD Card / Storage:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications
    3. Tap “Contacts
    4. Select to “Import / Export contacts
    5. Tap “Export” and select “Storage” or “SD card
    6. Make sure you remember the file name for future use and tap “OK” to confirm

    Back Up Media Files on the SD Card:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “My Files
    3. Tap “Device storage” under “Local storage
    4. Tap “More” > “Edit
    5. Locate the media files you want to back up and tick the boxes associated with them
    6. Tap “More” > “Copy
    7. Select “SD card
    8. Tap “Create folder” or navigate to the desired backup location
    9. Tap “Paste here

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

    1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
    2. Turn on “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer and use it to locate the media files on the phone
    4. Copy the files you want to back up and transfer them in the desired location on the computer
    5. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps.

    1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Visit Kies Support
    3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and follow the on-screen steps to install Kies
    4. Connect the Samsung phone to your Mac via USB
    5. Enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    6. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the “Back up / restore” tab
    7. Go to the “Backup” tab and select “Photos”, “Music” and other types of media files you want to back up
    8. Click “Backup” and wait for the process to complete
    9. Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can
    10. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
