    Back Up Application Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings
    3. Scroll to “personal” and tap “Backup & reset
    4. Turn on “Back up my data” to back up app data and settings to your Google account
    5. Turn on “Automatic Restore” to allow app data to be restored automatically when signing in with your backup Google account

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Accounts
    3. Select an account type and the desired account for contact syncing
    4. Ensure “Contacts” is checked
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

    NOTE: Contacts backed up using the method above can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your Google backup account.

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

    1. Establish a USB connection between your computer and Sony smartphone
    2. Turn on “Media Device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on your phone
    4. Copy the media files and transfer them in the desired backup storage on the PC
    5. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB cord

    Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Connect the Sony Xperia XA Ultra to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups on the PC storage
    4. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directories they originate from
    5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
