    Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache and / or data.

WARNING! When you clear the app’s data, all personal information stored within the app will be lost. This includes save files, settings, credit card and login information, profiles, high scores etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Access the “General” tab if necessary
    3. Tap “Apps”
    4. Swipe to “All” and select the desired app
    5. Tap “Clear cache”
    6. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “Yes” (Read WARNING Above)

    Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, you can try clearing the phone’s cache partition instead. Doing so can yield results similar to a factory reset, without losing any personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to the “General” tab if necessary
    3. Tap “Storage”
    4. Wait for the phone to calculate the data
    5. When done, tap “Cache data” > “Yes” to clear the cache partition

NOTE: If wiping the cache partition didn’t help, you can visit this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the device instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: In case you have installed a third party application that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled by default.

    1. While viewing the home screen, press and hold “Power”
    2. In the pop-up menu, press and hold “Power off”
    3. Tap “OK” when prompted to reboot in “Safe Mode”
    4. After the phone finishes rebooting, a “Safe Mode” label should be visible in the lower-left corner of the screen
    5. To remove an app, first access “Settings”
    6. Access the “General” tab if necessary
    7. Go to “Apps” and make sure you view “All” apps
    8. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
    9. To exit Safe Mode, reboot your phone as you normally would. Simply press & hold “Power” then tap “Power off and restart”
