    4. Tap “Menu”
    5. Turn on “Battery saver”

    Turn Off Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and Hotspot when these features are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home scree using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick tiles to disable these options

    5. To disable Wi-Fi hotspot, return to “Settings”
    6. Then, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature’s switch to OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    4. Select an account and disable the desired sync options

Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    6. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as 15 or 30 seconds

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes, and as such they can potentially affect battery life even when they are not actively in used. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and ensure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top of the screen
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Tap “Force Stop” to disable the app, or tap “Uninstall” to remove the app from the phone

NOTE: You can also uninstall apps from the phone by going to the apps drawer and dragging > dropping the app’s shortcut above the “Uninstall” section at the top of the screen.

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available, and if applicable follow the on-screen steps to download and apply it. NOTE: This process will require a reboot
