    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    5. Turn on “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth when not in use, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Location” and “Wi-Fi” tiles to disable these options
    3. Go to “Settings” and tap “Location” for more GPS options
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To turn off Hotspot, return to “Settings”
    6. Then, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Turn off “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot”

    Switch to 2G Networks:

    NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile Networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Select “2G” to confirm

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Display” and disable “Adaptive brightness” if necessary
    4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
    5. Return to “Display” and tap “Sleep”
    6. Select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to sync less data, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    4. Select an account type and the desired account
    5. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps can affect your device’s battery performance even when not in use, and thus, by removing or disabling unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps” and access “Downloaded”
    3. Select the desired app
    4. Tap “Force stop” / “Disable” to turn the app OFF
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm

    Keep the OS Up To Date:

    NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “About phone” under “System”
    4. Tap “System updates”
    5. If an update is available, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply it. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
