    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    5. Turn on “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth when not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the tiles associated with “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” to disable these features
    3. For more options, first go to “Settings”
    4. For more GPS options go to “Location”
    5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    6. To disable Wi-Fi Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Then, tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down with two fingers
    2. Drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left to decrease the screen’s luminosity
    3. Next, open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. To reduce the screen timeout duration, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to minimize sync, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    4. Choose an account to change its sync settings

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes, and thus they can technically affect battery life even when they are not actively in use. By turning off or removing unused third party applications, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Make sure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Tap the desired application
    5. Tap “Force stop” to disable to app, or:
    6. Tap “Uninstall” to remove the app from the phone

NOTE: Another way to uninstall an app is to open the apps drawer and drag & drop the app’s shortcut over the “Uninstall” field at the top of the screen.

    Keep The Software Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new OS updates are available:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if a new update is available for download
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update(s). NOTE: This process will require at least one reboot
