    Turn ON Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth when these features are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run as you prevent unnecessary network scans etc. To disable these options:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the tiles associated with “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” to disable these features
    3. For more options open “Settings”
    4. Tap “Location” (GPS)
    5. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    6. To turn off Wi-Fi Hotspot, go back to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Then, tap “Tethering & Portable Hotspot” and set the switch OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks” tap “More”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type” and turn on “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease brightness
    3. For timeout options, return to “Settings” and tap “Display” under “Device”
    4. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Tap “Sleep” and choose a lower timeout value such as “15 seconds”

    Manage (Reduce) Sync:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to reduce sync, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Under “Personal”, tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account and turn off the desired sync options

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps can perform regular background processes, and as such they can technically affect battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps on the phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    2. Tap “Apps” and make sure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    3. Tap the desired application
    4. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop”
    5. To remove the third party app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

NOTE: Another method of uninstalling apps is to open the apps drawer and then dragging & dropping the app’s shortcut over the “Uninstall” section at the top.

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can provide battery life improvements so it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. TO check if new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll down to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available for download
    5. If updates are available follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply them (NOTE: this process will require at least one reboot)
