    Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
    2. Tap the tiles associated with “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) to turn the features OFF
    3. For additional GPS options, first go to “Settings”
    4. Then tap “Location” > “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    5. To turn Off Wi-Fi Hotspot, go back to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and then set the switch OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by switching to 2G networks temporarily.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Network”, tap “More”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Turn on “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open the “Settings” menu for additional options
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. You can enable or disable “Adaptive brightness” optionally
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a screen lower timeout value

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ / apps’ sync settings to minimize sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select an account
    4. Enable / disable the available sync options as desired

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes and thus they can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By turning off or uninstalling unused apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps” under “Device”
    3. Make sure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Tap the desired application
    5. Tap “Force Stop” to disable the app, or:
    6. Tap “Uninstall” to remove the app

NOTE: Alternatively you can uninstall apps by opening the apps drawer and dragging > dropping the desired app’s shortcut over the “Uninstall” section at the top.

Keep the OS Up to Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements, thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if a new update is available
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply any available updates. NOTE: The update process will require at least one reboot
