    Turn Battery Saving Mode ON:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Access “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Turn “Battery saver” OFF

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    3. Turn “Adaptive brightness” OFF
    4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the slider towards the left to decrease screen luminosity
    5. For timeout options, go back to “Display” and tap “Sleep”
    6. Select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds”

    Enable Unused Connectivity Options:

NOTE: By turning the phone’s connectivity features OFF when unused - including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth – you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down with two fingers
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Wi-Fi”, “Location” (GPS) tiles to turn the features OFF
    3. For more options, go to “Settings”
    4. Access “Location” (GPS)
    5. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    6. To disable Wi-Fi Hotspot, return to “Settings”
    7. Then tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    8. Turn “Tethering & Mobile hotspot” OFF

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
    2. Tap “Mobile networks”
    3. Tap “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

Change Sync Settings to Reduce Sync:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your accounts / apps to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn OFF

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party applications perform regular background processes that can affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. As such, by turning OFF or removing unused third party apps from your phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    2. Tap “Apps”
    3. Go to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
    4. Tap “Force stop” / “Disable” to turn the app OFF
    5. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available
    5. If available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply any available updates. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot so make sure you save any unsaved work before proceeding
