    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the switch OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Select “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes, and thus they can affect battery life even when not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Ensure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To turn the app Off, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app from the device, tap “Uninstall”

NOTE: Alternatively you can remove apps from your phone by opening the apps drawer and dragging > dropping the app’s shortcut over the “Uninstall” section at the top.

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your apps’ / accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Open “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account to change its sync settings and reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check for new updates. If applicable, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply any available updates (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
