    2. Drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left to decrease luminosity

    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, you can turn “Adaptive brightness” On or Off
    6. To choose a lower timeout duration, tap “Sleep”

    Turn Off Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use – including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” (GPS)” and “Bluetooth” tiles to disable these features
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Scroll to and tap “Location” (GPS)
    5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    6. For more options, open “Settings”
    7. Then tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    8. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot”
    9. Touch the switch to disable Hotspot

    Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Go to “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type”
    5. Turn “2G” On

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your accounts / apps to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal”
    4. Tap “Accounts” and select an account to change its sync settings and reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes and they can potentially affect battery life when they are not actively in use. Thus, by removing or disabling unused third party apps on your phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps”
    4. Make sure “All Apps” is checked in the drop-down menu at the top
    5. Select the desired app
    6. Tap “Uninstall” to remove the app, or tap “Force Stop” to turn the app Off

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life so it’s recommended to keep the software updated at all times. To check for software updates:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply any available updates. NOTE: The update will require at least one reboot
