    Turn Battery Saving Mode On:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    5. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: By turning off connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS when not in use, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
    2. Tap the tiles associated with “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings” and scroll to & tap “Location”
    4. Tap Mode”
    5. Enable “Battery saving” and return to “Settings”
    6. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the switch OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Go to “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type”
    5. Turn “2G” ON

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Drag the “Brightness” slider to the left to decrease screen brightness
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, you can select to enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Minimize Third Party Application Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes and can potentially affect battery life even when not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and make sure “All Apps” is checked in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Tap “Uninstall” to remove the app, or tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” to turn the app Off

    Change Sync Settings to Minimize Sync:

    NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your accounts to reduce sync, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal”
    4. Tap “Accounts” and select the desired account to change its sync settings

    Keep Android OS Up To Date:

    NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Verify if a new update is available
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply any available updates. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot. Save any unsaved work before proceeding
