Disable Unused Connectivity Features and Switch to 2G:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run. Additionally, to conserve battery life until the next recharge you can temporarily switch to 2G networks.

    1. Go to “Settings”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes, and as such they can potentially affect battery life even when they are not in use. Thus, by disabling or uninstalling unused third party apps from your phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Applications” > “Application manager”

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    4. Select an account type and the desired account
    5. Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to disable
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now” to confirm

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Under “Connections”, tap “Data usage”
    3. Tap “More” > “Restrict background data”
    4. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Keep the Software Updated:

NOTE: Some software updates can improve battery life, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “System” and tap “About device”
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install any available updates
