    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Power”
    4. Tap “Power saver” and tick the boxes associated with the options you want to enable
    5. Tap the “Power saver” switch to turn the option ON

Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Display & Gestures” under “Phone”
    3. Tap “Brightness level” and, if necessary, turn “Adaptive brightness” OFF
    4. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
    5. For more options, go to the “Display & Gestures” menu and tap “Screen timeout”
    6. Select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and Hotspot when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” switches to turn them OFF
    3. For GPS options, scroll to and tap “Location”
    4. Tap “Mode” and turn “Battery saving” ON
    5. To disable Wi-Fi Hotspot, go back to “Settings”
    6. Then tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Mobile network sharing” and disable “Mobile Hotspot”

    Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “Mobile data”
    3. Tap “Network mode” and turn ON “GSM only”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes, and thus they have the potential to affect battery life even when they are not actively in use. By turning off or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Apps”
    4. Access “Downloaded” and select the desired app
    5. Tap “Disable” to turn the app OFF
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your accounts / apps to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts & Sync”
    3. Select an app to disable background processes
    4. For more sync options, select an account type and account

    Keep the Software Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available for download:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “About”
    3. Tap “Software information” > “Check now”
    4. Assuming that updates are available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply them (NOTE: The update process will require at least one reboot)
