    Back Up Application Data:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up Wi-Fi passwords, settings, and account data to your Google account
    5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data to be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your backup account

    Back Up Contacts to the SD Card or Storage:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Applications” > “Contacts”
    4. Tap “Import / Export contacts”
    5. Choose “Export” and select “Storage” or “SD Card”
    6. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts”
    3. Access “Google”
    4. Select the desired account and make sure “Contacts” is checked
    5. Tap “More” > “Sync now”

    Back Up Media Files on the SD Card:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “My Files”
    3. Scroll to “Local storage”
    4. Tap “Device storage” > “More” > “Edit”
    5. Locate and select the media files you want to back up
    6. Tap “More” > “Copy” > “SD Card”
    7. Navigate to, and select the desired destination folder. Optionally, tap “Create folder’
    8. Tap “Paste here” to confirm

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung device and your computer
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Finder on the computer
    4. Locate and copy the media files on the phone
    5. Paste the files in the desired backup location on the PC storage
    6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps below.

    1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Visit Kies Support
    3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” to download and install Kies on the Mac
    4. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung device and Mac
    5. On the smartphone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    6. Open Kies on the Mac
    7. Inside Kies, go to the “Back up / Restore” tab and access “Backup”
    8. Tick the boxes next to “Music”, “Photos”, and other media file types you want to back up
    9. Click “Backup” to begin the process
    10. Once the backup is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive and drop it into the “Trash can” icon to eject it
    11. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
