    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS when not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” tiles to disable these features
    3. For more Location (GPS) options, open “Settings” > “Location”
    4. Next, tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    5. For Hotspot options, return to “Settings”
    6. Next, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the switch OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching from 2G networks.

    1. Access “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Go to “Mobile Networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type” and select “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes which can technically affect battery life when not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Ensure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” to disable the app
    5. Alternatively, tap “Uninstall” to remove the app from the phone

NOTE: You can also remove an app from the apps drawer by dragging and dropping the app shortcut over the “Uninstall” section at the top (visible only when dragging an app icon).

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts / apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Turn the desired and available sync options OFF to reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life, so it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if a new update is available for download
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply the update. NOTE: this process will require at least one reboot
