    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “System”
    3. Tap “Battery” > and enable “Battery saving mode”
    4. Tap “Start power saving” and select a battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically

Disable Unused Connectivity Features and Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run. In addition, if your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Connections”
    3. Select to disable the available connectivity options
    4. Next, tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and disable the option
    5. To switch to 2G networks, go to “Connections” > “More connection settings”
    6. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
    7. Select “GSM only”

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Connections”
    3. Tap “Data usage” > “More”
    4. Tap “Restrict background data” > “OK”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    3. Optionally, enable or disable “Automatic brightness”
    4. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
    5. Return to “Display” and tap “Screen timeout”
    6. Choose a lower timeout value such as “15 seconds”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes, and as such they can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Applications” > “Application manager”
    5. Access “Downloaded”
    6. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” or “Force Stop” to disable the app
    7. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Change Sync Settings for Apps:

NOTE: By changing your apps / accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account type and the desired account
    5. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn OFF
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Certain software updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “System”
    3. Tap “About device”
    4. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply available updates
