    Back Up App Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up Wi-Fi passwords, settings, and account data to your Google account
    5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your backup account

    Back Up Contacts to the SD Card or Storage:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
    3. Tap “Contacts” and access “Import / Export contacts”
    4. Tap “Export” > “Storage” / “SD Card”
    5. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Accounts”
    3. Tap “Google” and select the desired Google account
    4. Make sure “Contacts” is checked and tap “More” > “Sync now”

    Back Up Media Files on the SD Card:

    1. Open “My Files”
    2. Scroll to “Local storage” and tap “Device storage”
    3. Tap “More” > “Edit”
    4. Locate and select the media files you want to back up
    5. Tap “More” > “Copy” > “SD Card”
    6. Navigate to, and select the desired folder or tap “Create folder”
    7. Tap “Paste here” to confirm

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate and copy the desired media files on the phone
    5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
    6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, you can skip the first 3 steps below:

    1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Visit Kies Support
    3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” to download and install Kies on the Mac
    4. Connect the Samsung phone to your Mac via USB
    5. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    6. Launch Kies on the Mac and go to the “Back up / Restore” tab
    7. Access “Backup”
    8. Tick the boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other types of files you want to back up
    9. Click “Backup” to begin the process
    10. Once done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “trash can” to eject it
    11. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB port
