    Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage inexplicably or doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all personal data stored within the app will be lost, including user profiles, save files, high scores, credit card and login information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings
    3. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Apps
    4. Select the desired app
    5. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
    6. If clearing the app’s cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK” to confirm (check WARNING above)

    Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your phone crashes, freezes, or runs out of storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can yield similar results to a factory reset without losing any personal data stored on the device. To clear the cache partition:

    1. Turn the phone OFF if necessary
    2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” simultaneously
    3. When the phone vibrates, release “Power
    4. At the “hTC download menu”, release “Volume down” too
    5. Press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “Reboot to bootloader
    6. Press “Power” to confirm the option
    7. At the “No Command” screen, press and hold “Power” and then tap “Volume Up
    8. Once in Android Recovery, release “Power
    9. Navigate the Recovery menu using the volume buttons and highlight “Wipe cache partition
    10. Press “Power” to select the option
    11. Wait for the cache partition to be cleared and then highlight “Reboot system now
    12. Press “Power” one last time to confirm and restart your phone

NOTE: In case clearing the phone’s cache partition didn’t solve the issues, you can check this guide for instructions on how to factory reset the phone.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party app that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.

    1. Press and hold “Power” while viewing the home screen
    2. At the “Power options” pop-up, tap and hold “Power off
    3. At the “Reboot to Safe Mode” prompt, tap “Restart
    4. After the phone finishes rebooting, as “Safe Mode” label should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
    5. To remove an app, go to “Settings
    6. Under “Phone”, tap “Apps
    7. Access “Downloaded
    8. Select the desired app
    9. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm
    10. To exit Safe Mode, press and hold “Power” to restart your device as you would do normally
